Catechists (teachers) are volunteers who willingly share their time and their faith stories with our children. Each catechist is given a volunteer-friendly teacher's manual, a curriculum guide, and support from the CF Office and other catechists. Training opportunities, inservices and many resources are provided. The John Paul II Center of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee has training, resource material and Catechist formation, Catechsis for Catechist in the Archdioece of Milwaukee.
All catechists are interviewed to make sure that the gifts and talents they are willing to share are compatible with the goals of our Christian Formation program. All catechists must agree to federal and state background checks and to attend one SAFEGUARDING ALL GOD’S CHILDREN session on protecting children from sexual abuse. Our goal is to maintain a safe environment for all God's people. You can learn more about SAFEGUARDING by clicking the button on the Home page of our web site.
Each year a number of new volunteers are needed as catechists and as substitute catechists. If you would like to learn more, please contact the CF Office.
Teens are welcome to help as aides in many of our CF classes.
