Children's Liturgy of the Word

Children in grades 1-4 are invited to participate in "Children's Liturgy of the Word" when it is provided during Sunday Mass. Children hear the Scripture readings proclaimed and discussed at their level of intellectual, emotional and faith development.
Children are dismissed from the main assembly just before the First Reading and return after the Prayers of the Faithful. While children are at Children's Liturgy of the Word, they are still in 'Mass' and continue with the parts of the Mass as the adults do. The children usually hear the First Reading, a psalm response, the Gospel, a Creed, and Prayers of the Faithful. They participate in discussion and usually receive a flyer to take home that reinforces the readings of the day.
Children's Liturgy of the Word takes place during 5:00, 9:00 and 10:45 Masses during the school year (except holidays) as Leaders are available.
