Child Ministry

St. William's Child Ministry includes faith formation of pre-school and school-age children in grades K3-6 as partners with parents. We seek to help children develop their faith life while learning a basic understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church. We do this in the following ways:

Christian Formation (CF) Classes
Preschool, kindergarten and public school children receive their Catholic faith formation through CF classes. Several options are offered weekly through our CF program which runs from September through April. Through these classes, children become aware of their responsibilities for themselves as children of God, for others, and for the world in which we live. The foundation of the program is the conviction that God is always present in our daily lives.  Registration forms for the current year may be found on this web site under “Forms” “Registration…”

Worship and Prcmayer Experiences

CF children in grades 1-6 have an opportunity to participate
in many kinds of worship and prayer experiences including Mass,
Stations of the Cross, reconciliation, Christmas celebration, and
others. The children often help prepare, plan and participate in
the prayer services.

Building Community
CF children are given many opportunities to interact with each other to help them understand that they are part of a larger community of Catholic children. They learn to be together as children of God and celebrate together through activities such as prayer services, Christmas gathering, and a hot dog party.

Class Service Projects
034.JPGChildren in CF classes, grades 1-6, are encouraged to participate in their class's service projects to gain a better understanding of caring for ALL God's people. Such projects may include collecting food for food boxes, donating money for the annual Lenten charity, making cookies for a local meal program or a variety of other activities decided upon by each individual class.
