The Church has always seen action on behalf of justice an essential part of her mission. In "Justice in the World" the Bishops stated that "Action on behalf of justice and participation in the transformation of the world fully appears to us as a constitutive dimension of the preaching of the Gospel..." The Human Concerns committee tries to make this statement real. We do so in four ways. They are:
