Catholic Social teaching calls us to show respect to all life. We are especially called to show concern for those who are the most vulnerable in our society. We are called to have a consistent ethic of life and to support the dignity of all life from womb to tomb. This mean we must have consistent positions on issues such as abortion, war, poverty, health care, death penalty, end of life issues, stem cells, cloning and the environment to name a few.
To respect life should also influence our discourse and will never allow us to demonize those who disagree with us.
Finally to respect life means that we are to offer forgiveness in the same way we hope to be forgiven.
